Terveyden edistäminen, omahoidon tukeminen ja kuntoutus äitiyshuollossa. Keskeiset hoitotyön auttamismenetelmät lasta odottavan ja synnyttävän perheen hoitotyössä. Iän, sukupuolen, kulttuuritaustan, kasvu- ja kehitysvaiheen sekä erilaisten hoito- ja palveluympäristöjen ja eettisyyden asettamat vaatimukset äitiyshuollolle. Hoitotyön tarpeen arviointi ja potilaan tarkkailu, keskeiset tutkimus- ja hoitotoimenpiteet sekä diagnostiset tutkimukset äitiyshuollossa. Moniammatillisuus äitiyshuollossa. Synnytysopilliset kysymykset.

Objective

COMPETENCE IN HEALTH PROMOTION, COUNSELLING AND MENTORING COMPETENCE

Students will learn to guide and support the health of childbearing families and to promote bonding between a newborn baby and its parents.

CLINICAL COMPETENCE AND INNOVATION COMPETENCE

Students will learn to use care guidelines and multi-disciplinary research knowledge as a basis for their work. They will study common problems, examinations and treatments in reproductive health.

WORKING COMMUNITY COMPETENCE


Students will be familiar with the social welfare and health care service system as regards children and youth and their families. They will be competent in helping clients use the services appropriately.

ETHICAL COMPETENCE

Students will care for children, youth and their families with respect and confidentiality.

Content

Children, youth and their families as clients in the social welfare and health care service system, the national and international development of the service provision system. Teaching and counselling in promoting the health of children, youth and their family members, as well as in supporting growth into parenthood, motherhood and fatherhood. Nursing of pregnant women, women in labour and their families. Identification of family change and crisis and early intervention.
