Objective

Students will understand field-related texts and terminology and be able to summarize texts in writing and verbally. Students will understand the job application process and be able to write application letters and CVs.

Exam schedules

Exam will be taken during the last lessons of the course. A failed exam can be retaken twice within a year after the course has ended.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

There are several mistakes in the written presentation. The text is uniform and understandable, but quite simple.
There are several mistakes and mispronunciations in the oral presentation. However, the message is mainly understandable. If the text is presented directly from written notes or slides, the maximum grade is 1-2.
The students have a one-sided command of the basic vocabulary and grammar.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

There are a few minor mistakes in the written presentation, but the main message comes across. Fluent and logical text with a good basic structure.
There are a few mispronunciations and grammatical errors in the oral presentation, but the main message comes across. Fluent basic knowledge of the language, even though notes are used occasionally. Hesitation slows down the speech.
The student has a fairly good command of the vocabulary of their branch as well as standard language. The student uses basic structures of the language almost without mistakes.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

There are no mistakes in the written presentation. The text is professional and fluent. The text includes demanding sentences.
There are no mistakes in the oral presentation. The pronunciation and rate of speech is natural. All in all the speech is free and fluent and easy to follow. The student reacts properly when communicating with other people.
The student has a good command of vocabulary and uses structures fluently.
