Objective
Students will learn to plan, implement and evaluate end-of-life care and become motivated to keep up to date with research and practical development work in end-of-life care. Students will be able to develop end-of-life care in various service provision systems. They will learn pain management methods. With help of their theoretical knowledge foundation and relevant research, they will learn to observe and support old people's end-of-life process and the adaptation of the patients' significant others.
Content
Terminal patients' good quality of life, meeting the needs and wishes of the dying people, respecting their conviction. End-of-life care in various settings, pain alleviation methods for end-of-life care, terminal care decisionmaking, holistic care and nursing of the dying, physical, psychological, social and spiritual perspective, supporting and advising families and significant others, practical counselling.

With help of their theoretical knowledge foundation and relevant research, they are able to critically analyse old people's end-of-life process and the adaptation of the patients' significant others. Students have command over end-of-life pain control.
Grade 3
Students know how to plan, implement and evaluate good quality end-of-life care and they are motivated to keep up to date with research and practical development work in end-of-life care. Students are able to develop end-of-life care in various service provision systems. With help of their theoretical knowledge foundation and relevant research, they are able to analyse old people's end-of-life process and the adaptation of the patients' significant others. Students have command over end-of-life pain control.
Grade 1
Students know, to an adequate degree, how to plan, implement and evaluate end-of-life care and they are motivated to keep up to date with research and practical development work in end-of-life care. With help of their theoretical knowledge foundation and relevant research, they analyse to a limited degree old people's end-of-life process and the adaptation of the patients' significant others. Students are familiar with end-of-life pain control methods.
