Objective

Learning goals:
The student
- deepens his/her competence and expertise of palliative care by familiarizing with evidence-based knowledge
- prepares a descriptive literature review on a chosen subject of competence and expertise areas in palliative care
- produces and presents an evidence-based professional presentation at the regional palliative care symposium about a chosen subject related to areas of competence and expertise

Content

The student
- Chooses a topic of competence and expertise areas in palliative care and deepens this in a descriptive literature review.
- Familiarizes with systematic information search, by which he/ she chooses sources for the descriptive literature review.
- Writes the descriptive literature review.
- Produces and presents the literature review at the regional symposium of palliative care.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student's expertise is demonstrated in accordance with the learning goals' criteria. Competence is assessed on the basis of constructive evaluation. The student, a peer student and the supervising teacher carry out a discussion about the student's competence and its development in respect to the learning goals.
Special palliative care competence needed in working life, in other words the ability to build together knowledge, skills, experience, values and social networks, will be assessed. General assessment criteria for demonstration of competencies based on NQF/ EQF-level 6 will be used in assessment. In addition, detailed criteria based on competence description will be used.
