Objective

The student
-completes his / her diabetes knowledge and counselling skills in nursing a type 1 and type 2 diabetes patient

Content

Type 1 and type 2 diabetes as a disease and counselling through various cases:
- Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Ketoacidosis
- Different forms of pharmacotherapy for type 1 diabetes, Familiarization with insulin pump therapy, type 2 pharmacotherapy and drug-free treatment
- Self-care guidance for diabetics, guidance on the use of treatment equipment
- Diabetic nutrition; assessment of carbohydrate levels in meals, special situations
- Diabetic patient`s exercise
- Prevention of organ changes in diabetics
- Different counselling methods

Qualifications

Basic knowledge about diabetes 1 and 2 is recommended.
