Objective

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to name principles and objectives of social rehabilitation. They will recognize various orientations and methods in social rehabilitaion. They will learn to plan, implement and evaluate rehabilitative activities for various groups of clients in social services. Students will undertand what a rehabilitative approach to work involves in social rehabilitation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Grade 1-2:
Students know the principles and goals of rehabilitative client work. They are able to define client needs and resources and know how to plan a goal-oriented client work process. Students are able to place social rehabilitation in the context of rehabilitation and see its links with individual, community and society-level background factors.
Grade 3-4:
Students know how to use and justify various rehabilitative work orientations and methods in their work with clients (in planning, implementing and evaluating rehabilitative activity). They are able to counsel various clients and groups of clients in a goal-oriented manner in the context of everyday life.
Grade 5:
Students are able to analyse links between rehabilitation and individual, community and society-level background factors. Students are also able to develop rehabilitative work orientations and methods in their work with clients of social services.

Qualifications

Major part of the first year studies of the degree programme.
