Upon completion of the course, students will know various types of construction materials, their properties, handling, standards and selection.

- Using and testing various materials
- Internal structure of metals
- Constitutional diagram
- Thermal treatment
- Steel and cast iron
- Aluminium alloys
- Other alloys
- Consumption of natural resources and recycling of materials

Teaching methods

The teaching material is in Moodle. Lectures, independent work and laboratory work.

Lectures 28 h, labs 6 h, independent studying

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Level 1 - 2 Student knows the basics of the knowledge objectives of the course.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Level 3 - 4 Student knows the knowledge objectives of the course well.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Level 5 Student knows the knowledge objectives of the course well and can apply their knowledge in practice.

Assessment methods and criteria

In the end of the study module is an examination. The participation in the laboratory work is compulsory. Student must participate in the hour trainings
