Business and entrepreneurship (3cr)

Objective

The student can
- describe the meaning and role of business activities in the society and in his/her field
- explain how entrepreneurship manifests on individual and organisational level
- describe entrepreneurial capabilities and assess his/her own entrepreneurial capabilities
- describe prerequisites of profitable business
- examine analytically the future outlook of business opportunities in his/her field

- business as part of society and the global environment
- entrepreneurship as pattern of action and as business activities
- basic concepts of business, business logic
- business as a part of a career in one's own field

Online material and material from the teacher at Moodle

Teaching methods

Studies mainly in Moodle online learning environment and
plus 3 days of contact lessons (20% contact lessons, 80% distance learning)
Study methods include lectures, group and individual tasks, e-learning, study visits

Employer connections

Students make study visits to various companies and interview entrepreneurs. In summary, they write a report.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

- Active participation and all assignments accepted.
Learning outcomes must be achieved for acceptance.
