Introduction to Chinese (3cr)

Objective

students
- know some aspects of Chinese language and culture
- can write and recognise simple characters
- can apply the grammar
- are able to communicate in situations such as greetings, apologies, farewells, introductions.

Content

Basic vocabulary, some grammar, pronunciation, conversations for daily communication

Qualifications

No prerequisites

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student can use the target language only in few situations.
Compared to the contents of the course his knowledge of Chinese culture and language is narrow.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is relatively fluent when communicating in the target language. Compared to the contents of the course he has good knowledge of Chinese culture and language. The student can apply grammar learnt during the course in various communication situations.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has reached all the goals of the course.
He can communicate in the target language.
His knowledge of the target country is on a level corresponding to the course requirements.
The student has a very good ablity to apply contents of the course in simple communication situations.
