Literary Genres (5cr)

Objective

After the course the student is able to organize and categorize fiction to different genres. The student is able to name the valued novels of of the genres. S/he is able to present and recommend genre fiction to customers.

Content

- Reading, presenting and writing critics about genre fiction
- Publishing critics about books in weblog
- Group work of chosen genre
- conversations about the books at reading circles and social media
- organizing a reading circle

Qualifications

No prerequisites.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Will be announced at the beginning of the course.

Materials

Lists of genre fiction, which is given at the beginnig of the course. Student´s autonomous information retrieval.

Teaching methods

Lectures, reading circles, discussions, presentations in blogs and group work.
