Objective

CLINICAL COMPETENCE
Students are able to form an overall picture of the patients' needs. Students are able to implement the prevailing nursing interventions and examinations. They follow the principles of asepsis in their work.

HEALTH PROMOTION COMPETENCE

Students observe the principles of rehabilitative nursing in their work. They how to help patients understand and influence factors which affect their health.

DECISION-MAKING COMPETENCE

Students plan, implement and evaluate nursing. They are also competent in spoken and written communication. Students know how to describe the various stages of a patient's nursing plan and how to draw up a nursing plan and follow the recommendations on structured documentation. They systematically document, report and monitor patient data using information technology and networks.

COMPETENCE IN CUSTOMERSHIP IN HEALTH CARE

Students are able to choose and use evidence to argue for their choice of nursing interventions and to implement the interventions in a client/patient-centred manner in different client/patient situations. They evaluate and develop their work with clients. Students learn to plan, implement and evaluate the nursing of terminally ill patients and their families.

INTERNATIONALIZATION COMPETENCE

Students recognize challenges brought on by internationality.

Content

This practical training is carried out in a health centre ward or similar unit (9 cr).
The training period includes orientation lectures, reflection sessions and demonstration of competence.

Qualifications

Passed drug calculation test

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The same criteria as for the theoretical courses Basics of Nursing and Nursing interventions.

Materials

The same literature and material as in the whole study module.

Teaching methods

Assignments in practical training, learning contract. Certificate on student's drug care competence
