Objective

The student develops an ability to help organizations gain and maintain a competitive edge by delivering new products and services to consumers and final customers, by offering existing products and services at reduced cost by restructuring organization´s value chain and internal ways of working.
The student will understand the meaning and basic functionalities of e-commerce and e-business including but not limited to their main components and related processes.

Content

The focus of the course is in analyzing and developing eCommerce business models, concepts and business strategies for new and purely Internet-based companies, and for already existing brick and mortar organizations planning to add value by introducing enhanced or new digital workflows.

The main topics of the course are digital supply chain management, e-procurement, digital marketing and digital business models.

Key concepts to be handled are e-commerce, e-business, enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) , radio frequency identification (RFID), internet of things (IOT), search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimisation (SEO) and cloud services.

Market settings to be covered are business to consumer (B2C), business to business (B2B) and consumer to consumer (C2C) within internet, intranet or extranet communication platforms

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student has engaged to learning at satisfactory level. He/she has participated to the course and related teamwork to a satisfactory degree. The student can describe the role and impact of e-business and e-commerce in modern business organization. He/she can apply the basics of e-business modelling. The student has demonstrated understanding of one topical area of choice within e-commerce domain.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student has engaged to learning at very good level. He/she has participated actively and constructively to the course and related teamwork. The student can describe the role and impact of e-business and e-commerce in modern business organization. He/she can apply the basics of e-business modelling to a very good standard. The student has demonstrated very good understanding of one topical area of choice within e-commerce domain.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has engaged to learning at an excellent level. He/she has participated very actively and constructively to the course and related teamwork. The student can describe the role and impact of e-business and e-commerce in modern business organization. He/she can apply the basics of e-business modelling to an excellent standard. The student has demonstrated excellent understanding of one topical area of choice within e-commerce domain.
