Course unit code: KC32AR00204

General information

Credits
4 cr

Objective

Competence in structural engineering
Students understand the essential phenomena in construction physics. In the planning and construction of structures, they are aware of and take into consideration physical properties of structures and observe the relevant regulations. Students are familiar with the properties and uses of the more common insulating materials.

Competence in the construction process
Students know how to take site conditions into consideration and how to manage insulation work to achieve high quality results.

Content

? Physical properties and uses of heat, damp, water and sound insulation materials
? Thermal insulation, heat transfer mechanisms, regulations, U value, temperature distribution
? Damp insulation and damp transfer
