Objective

Upon competition of the course, students will
- be familiar with chemical safety factors, and be able to apply them in laboratory work
- be able to name and write elements and compounds, chemical formulas
- be able to interpret and to apply for periodic system it's about practice
- be able to write the chemical reaction equations
- knows types of chemical binds and able to assess their importance for chemical reactions
- be able to calculate the mass and concentration.

Content

The course deals with
- Chemical Safety
- The elements in the periodic table
- The basic concepts of chemistry
- Chemical bonding
- State of the substance
- Reaction equations
- Acids and bases
- Calculation mass and concentration.

Qualifications

No previous studies are required.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Satisfactory (1...2): The student knows and understands to a basic concepts and methods of inorganic chemistry, and is able to apply them to usual problems.

Good (3...4): The student is familiar with the concepts and methods of inorganic chemistry, and is able to apply them to different types of problems. The student is able to combine the accumulated knowledge and skills with previous experiences in the subject.

Excellent (5): The student is familiar with the concepts and methods of inorganic chemistry, and is able to apply them to a variety of different problems. The student has demonstrated creativity and innovation, and is able to find new meanings when applying what they have learned.
