Objective
After completing the course, the student:
- is familiar with the features of modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- understands the key concepts of production management.
- takes into account the effects of production management on the company’s performance and financial indicators.
- interprets production metrics and understands their implications.
- considers sustainable development as part of the company’s production and production management processes.

The student describes the basic theories and concepts of production control - MRP, JIT, Lean ja OPT. Furthermore, student can describe the most essential critical production control metrics, including delivery reliability, lead time, utilization rate, productivity, and OOE/KNL.

The student describes the basic theories and concepts of production control - MRP, JIT, Lean ja OPT. Furthermore, student can describe the most essential critical production control metrics, including delivery reliability, lead time, utilization rate, productivity, and OOE/KNL. The student is able to use PDM (Product Data Management) system and is able to apply it to simple product structures.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student can accurately describe the basic theories and concepts of production control - MRP, JIT, Lean ja OPT. Furthermore, student can apply his/her understanding of critical production control metrics, including delivery reliability, lead time, utilization rate, productivity, and OOE/KNL, justifying his/her selections with green transition and possibilities of circular economy in well-justified manner. The student uses PDM (Product Data Management) system in errorless manner and is able to apply it to simple product structures. The student is also extensively familiar with different levels and systems of production control, such as PDM, ERP, MES and is able to utilize them in digitalized production environments.
