General information

Credits
3 cr
Teaching language
Finnish

Objective

After completing the course, the student is able to model 3D products, sheet metal components, and both sub-assemblies and main assemblies. In addition, the student can create manufacturing drawings and assembly drawings using CAD software.

The student understands the fundamentals of technical drawing and reads engineering drawing symbols fluently. The student takes manufacturability into account in their design work. This also helps the student develop an understanding of the product life cycle, including the consideration of sustainable development throughout the entire life-cycle design process.

Content

-Theory of technical drawing
-3D modelling and general theory of modelling systems
-3D modelling of products and assembly models
-Drawing planes and sheet metal designing
-Diagrams and their standardised symbols

Students will do exercises using 3D CAD software.

Qualifications

Previous studies are not required.
