- Finnish
Objective
After completing the course, the student is able to draw and produce electrical and industrial automation documents using computer-aided design tools
Content
During the course, the following topics are covered:
- use of the design software
- drawing main diagrams and circuit diagrams with the application
- creating control panel layouts (2D and 3D)
- drawing control panel diagrams
- generating tables
Qualifications
No prior studies required
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Student:
- identifies and uses the basic functions of an electrical design software.
- draws basic main diagrams, circuit diagrams, and control panel diagrams under guidance.
- applies diagrams in typical electrical drawings, although occasional support is needed for consistent use of symbols and structure.
- recognizes electrical safety requirements at a basic level and understands how documentation clarity affects safe use and maintenance of equipment.
- identifies the role of documentation in relation to system lifecycle, maintainability, and responsible implementation.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Student:
- masters the essential functions of the electrical design software and uses them fluently in various design situations.
- independently and accurately draws main diagrams, circuit diagrams, and control panel diagrams for different types of electrical documentation.
- applies standardized symbols and structures consistently, ensuring readability and technical quality of the documentation.
- takes into account principles of safe design, such as
– the impact of clear documentation on safe system operation,
– maintainability,
– error prevention, and
– lifecycle performance.
- justifies their design choices correctly from a technical standpoint.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Student:
- demonstrates broad and in-depth mastery of the software tools and operating principles of electrical design software and uses them efficiently when producing advanced electrical drawings.
- draws diverse and technically consistent main diagrams, circuit diagrams, and control panel diagrams for different application environments.
- evaluates the quality of documentation and provides development suggestions for its improvement.
- applies standards and best practices and ensures clarity, functionality, and accuracy of all diagrams.
- comprehensively incorporates sustainability and responsibility aspects, such as
– supporting safe and maintainable solutions through documentation,
– presenting lifecycle-critical and energy-efficiency-relevant information in diagrams,
– maintaining structural clarity to reduce the risk of errors throughout the system lifecycle.
- justifies design choices analytically and proposes improvements to both the drawings and the design process.
