Objective
The student is able to use the MATLAB software to solve practical mathematical problems in automation engineering and is familiar with the most commonly required mathematical concepts and methods related to these tasks.
Content
Basics of MATLAB and its use in solving mathematical problems.
Laplace transform
Fourier transform
Probability theory and statistics
Fundamentals of data analysis
Qualifications
Algebra and geometry, vectors and matrices, differential and integral calculus, or equivalent knowledge and skills.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Satisfactory (1–2): The student describes the basic concepts and methods of mathematics used in automation engineering and the fundamentals of MATLAB, and is able to apply them to solving elementary problems.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Good (3–4): The student accurately describes the mathematical concepts used in automation engineering and the fundamental MATLAB-related methods, and applies them to solving various types of problems. The student connects the learned concepts with their previous experience in the subject area.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Excellent (5): The student accurately describes the mathematical and MATLAB-related concepts and methods, and independently supplements the course content. They apply their knowledge extensively to solving a wide range of questions and problems. The student creates new insights within the scope of the subject and demonstrates innovation that goes beyond the presented course content.
