Objective
After completing the course, students will be able to:
- structure the key concepts, actors, and structures of cultural policy
- analyze the effects of cultural policy on society and cultural production
- identify historical and current developments in cultural policy
- critically examine cultural policy from different perspectives
- apply cultural policy knowledge in their own professional work

Definition and tasks of cultural policy
Actors in cultural policy: the state, municipalities, organizations, the EU, international organizations
Values, objectives, and funding mechanisms of cultural policy
Current cultural policy issues and debates
The impact of cultural policy on the work of cultural producers

The student can name the key concepts, actors, and structures of cultural policy. Can list the effects of cultural policy on society. Recognizes the financing mechanisms of culture.

The student is able to name the key concepts, actors, and structures of cultural policy. Is able to analyze the effects of cultural policy on society. Is able to compare cultural funding mechanisms.

The student is able to examine cultural phenomena from different perspectives and produce analytical, well-reasoned texts. Knows how to suggest suitable sources of funding for different purposes.
