Objective

The student is familiar with various factors that promote attraction and retention, as well as leadership trends and methods. The student can justifiably choose leadership methods and tools that enhance attraction and retention. The student understands the importance of leadership in the development and maintenance of services for the older people. Elements of appreciative leadership are evident in the student’s actions and speech. The student is able to utilize international research literature on leadership perspectives. The student recognizes his/her own skills and understands the importance of competence management in work that promotes attraction and retention.

Content

The importance of leaders and supervisors in maintaining the appreciation of services for older people and in developing the attraction and retention of the work community.
Different leadership styles and communication
Leadership and socio-economic evaluation
Recognition and management of competence.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with various leadership trends and methods that promote attraction and retention. The student understands the importance of leadership in the development and maintenance of services for the older people and recognizes the factors that contribute to the attraction and retention of the work community. The student is able to utilize research literature on leadership perspectives. The student understands the importance of recognizing competence but is unable to describe his/her own competence.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is familiar with leadership trends and methods that promote attraction and retention and can justifiably choose leadership methods and tools that suit them. The student understands the importance of leadership in the development and maintenance of services for the older people and can identify and evaluate the factors that contribute to the attraction and retention of the work community. Elements of appreciative leadership are evident in the student’s actions and speech. The student is able to utilize research literature on leadership perspectives and critically examines information. The student describes his/her own competence and skill needs, but not in great depth.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is comprehensively familiar with various leadership trends and methods that promote attraction and retention and can justifiably choose leadership methods and tools that are suitable for both the work community and themselves. The student understands the importance of leadership in the development and maintenance of services for the older people and strives to enhance the attraction and retention of the work community through their own actions. Elements of appreciative leadership are evident in the student’s actions and speech. The student is able to utilize international research literature on leadership perspectives. The student justifies the recognition and management of competence as part of work that promotes attraction and retention and describes his/her own comptence ans skill needs in depth and comprehensively.
