Objective
Students will identify the potential of tools for managing project portfolios and individual projects.
The student can plan and monitor a single project with MS Project.
Content
Task list in MS Project
• Creating and editing a to-do list
• Structuring the to-do list (division of tasks)
• Adding notes and annotations to the to-do list
Schedule
• Determining the duration/workload of tasks
• Milestones and their utilization
• Defining task dependencies
• Managing task deadlines
• Target dates (deadline)
• Calendar and working time specifications
• General working time calendar as default setting
Resources
• Defining and using resources per project
• Allocating resources to tasks
• Solution of resource overload situations
• Calculation of workload/duration in connection with resourcing
• Management of resource reservations
Changing schedule or resources
• Task types and their importance in change situations
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student can design and implement, and digitally execute a project implementation plan. In the implementation plan, the student can outline, structure, and organise the project tasks into a task list and identify the interdependencies between tasks. In addition, the student will understand the link between scheduling and resourcing and the task list. The student will know how to monitor the progress of the project and how to make changes to it in case of change.
