KiVANET Portuguese 1 (3cr)

Objective

The student knows the basics of Portuguese, being able to understand and to use the key vocabulary and structures both in speech and in writing.
Having taken the course, the student is able to give their personal data, is able to cope with certain everyday communication situations in the target language, is able to describe their operational environment, and is able to provide advice and instructions in everyday situations

Content

Portuguese pronunciation (Portugese, Brazilian), personal pronouns, verbs SER, ESTAR, regular and irregular verbs of indicative present tense, futuro imediato (ir + present tense), present continuous, prepositions.
Vocabulary: weekdays, numbers 0–100, introducing oneself, study environment, cafe, family, professions

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

To pass the course, the student must master the key grammar and lexis of the course and be able to express themselves intelligibly in Portuguese in common communicative situations, related to the course content.
