Objective

The student is aware of the main stages of the development of arable crops and the cultivation techniques and knows the factors affecting the quality and quantity of the crop. The student is able to describe the machinery and equipment used in cereal seeding, harvesting and processing, and is able to explain the key design factors. The student knows how to prepare a cultivation plan. The student is able to make the most important quality analyzes and know the importance of different quality factors.

Student is able to classify weeds into different groups and know the most common plant diseases and pests. The student is able to summarize the methods used for herbicide control and know the technology used in the work and its impact. The student is able to plan the economic and environmental aspects of the control work.

Content

Basics of crop yield and grain development; arable crop cultivation techniques, the most important grain quality analyzes; compilation of a cultivation plan on a computer; machines for harvesting and processing cereals.
Classification and properties of weeds; non-chemical methods for controlling weeds; herbicides and their use; plant growth regulators; plant protection technology; environmental and health effects of plant protection products; plant protection plan; identification of major diseases and pests

The student knows the main arable crops in the development stages, cultivation techniques, crop quality and quantity factors. He is aware of the machines of arable crop harvesting and processing. He knows the principles of cropping plan and the most important quality analyzes.

Student is able to compare the main arable crops in the developing stages, farming techniques and crop quality and quantity factors. He knows the machinery using the main arable crop harvesting and processing. He can do the cropping plan and the most important quality analyzes.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to evaluate the major arable crop development stages and farming techniques affect crop quality and quantity. They are able to choose the most appropriate crop harvesting and processing of the necessary machining. He is able to make the cropping plan independently, as well as plan for the most important quality analyzes.
