Construction Physical Measurements (3cr)
Course unit code: RAK2G5
General information
- Credits
- 3 cr
Objective
Competence in structural engineering
Students are competent in choosing the required and appropriate measurements to ensure the physical function of buildings. Students know how to apply the measurement standards, how to interpret the findings and how to propose remedies to improve the construction physical features of buildings.
Competence in the construction process
Students are competent in determining how construction solutions and mistakes affect the physical function of buildings. Students understand how the quality of the construction work affects the energy efficiency and other physical features of the building.
Content
- Measuring air tightness
- Thermal scans
- Sound measurements
- Humidity measurements
- Long-term measurements
Qualifications
Construction physics
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is able to order measurements. They know at what stage each measurement must be done and are able to interpret the obtained results.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student is able to perform measurements in accordance with standards. The are able to interpret the obtained results and to associate the role of solutions and errors made during the construction period with the construction physical functionality of the building.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to perform measurements in accordance with standards. The are able to interpret the obtained results and to make suggestions for repairs to improve the construction physical properties of the structures.
