Objective

Students implement multi-professional practice or outpatient nursing while taking into consideration the patient's age, growth and development stage, the requirements of ethicality and the care and service setting. Students know how to assess the resources of patients and families from different cultural backgrounds and know how to support them in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Students plan, implement and evaluate practice or outpatient nursing for patients facing common health changes and/or problems and/or crises. Students are competent in nursing documentation and oral reporting. Students use evidence-based interventions developed for practice and outpatient nursing to help, support and counsel patients and their families. Students know how to safely plan, implement and evaluate drug and fluid care. They observe asepsis in practice and outpatient nursing. Students know how to support and promote the health and ability to function in patients of all ages. They are able to counsel and support patients and families in self-care in practices or outpatient clinics. Students evaluate their professional competence critically from the perspectives of strengths and development needs.

Practical training in placements which allow students to practise outpatient or practice nursing. eDrug Care Certificate. Assignments.

Students
- do not adequately appreciate or use the knowledge base of client-centred clinical nursing
- are not adequately able to give reasons for their chosen actions in client-centred clinical nursing
-are not adequately able to apply to practice their knowledge of client-centred clinical nursing
-are not capable of adequate client-centred and safe clinical practice
-do not possess adequate decision-making skills for client-centred clinical nursing
-do not adequately take into consideration safety or ethical principles in client-centred clinical nursing
-are not prepared to develop client-centred clinical nursing
