Objective

Students are familiar with the background of patient counselling. They know how to plan, implement and evaluate a counselling process. Students are able to use various counselling methods and written, visual and online materials in patients counselling.

Content

The background and principles of patient counselling. Conceptions of learning, counselling and teaching processes. Counselling methods and virtual services in patient counselling.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1-2
Students
- are able to know cursorily the concept of the guiding and the factors influencing to the quality of the guiding and are able to use the guiding methods
- in the written assignment: are able to analyze guiding, but it remains brief and skim towards the profession
- are able to handle sources of knowledge, their own expert and empirical knowledge outside the
phenomenon, references are old, or there exist few or they don´t correspond the topic
- are not able to combine different knowledge with each others
- are able to report their seminar assignment by the formal conditions, which are agreed together
- are able to write their seminar assignments mainly according to the instructions, but the report doesn`t obey fully the instructions of the SeAMK written assignment
- are able to present their guiding moment mainly direct from the paper and they are able pay attention a little the audience and they use elucidation tools a little or these tools don`t support the presentation
- are able to show their dismissive attitude towards the guiding

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students
- are able to know the concept of the guiding and the factors influencing to the quality of the guiding and are able to use the evidence-based guiding methods
- in the written assignment: are able to deal with guiding according to the goals of the study course and are able to present some relations into the frames of profession
- are able to justify the sources of knowledge, their own expert and empirical knowledge
- are able to report their seminar assignment exclusively, logically and clearly according to the instructions
- are able to write good, general finnish language ja they are able to obey the instructions of the SeAMK written assignment
- are able to present the guiding moment fluently and they are able pay attention the audience and they use at least one elucidation tools and these tools support the presentation, students read some texts direct from the paper
- are able to show their positive attitude towards the guiding

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students
- are able to understand the concept of the guiding and the factors influencing to the quality of the guiding and are able to apply the evidence-based guiding methods into the nursing practice
- in the written assignment: are able to deal with guiding comprehensive and are able to proportion the phenomenon into the wider frames of profession
- are able to seek the actual research knowledge about the guiding and use the actual nursing recommendations
- are able to deal with the knowledge critically and constructively
- are able to justify their solutions with the sources of knowledge, their own expert and empirical knowledge
- are able to report their seminar assignment creatively (illustrative tables or figures), exclusively, logically and clearly
- are able to show independent, critical and creative thinking and the expertise of the own profession
- are able to write good, clear general finnish language ja they are able to obey the instructions of the SeAMK written assignment
- are able to present the guiding moment fluently and they are able pay attention the audience and they use versatile and suitable elucidation tools and these tools support the presentation
- are able to show their familiarity and expertise of the guiding

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Failed = 0
Students
- are not able to know the concept of the guiding its appearance in the nursing practice
- are not able to recognize the factors influencing to the quality of the guiding and are not able to name the guiding methods
- in the written assignment: are able to analyze guiding without the connections the goals of the study course/ instructions or the internal handling of the guiding is not enough the achievement of the goals
- are able to report their seminar assignments according to the instructions
- are not able to present their guiding moment at all
