Media Education and Special Groups (5cr)

Objective

After the course the student is able to tell what does the media education of senior citizens or other special groups mean. S/he is able to identify the role of a librarian in it. The student is able to analyse from the groups viewpoint the important sectors of media education.

Content

- Special groups that library deals with as a media educator (e. g. senior citizens and immigrants)
- The aims of the media education of special groups from the groups viewpoint.
- Special groups and media literacy
- social media and senior citizens
