Social work theory and pracice (5cr)

Objective

Student is able to explain the meaning of social work theory and methods.

Content

There is a tendency to see social work as a theoretically grounded profession. There are, however, different meanings attached to social work theory. The methods of social work are älso understood in different ways. Student familiarizes with literature and writes a six-page essay on what is means by social work theories and methods and how they can be reflected upon social work expertise.

Qualifications

No previous studies are required.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Grading: pass/fail (grade 3)
Students are able to explain the meaning of social work theory and methods and how they relate to social work expertise.
