Objective

Students will become familiar with the service provision system and service pathway for people with memory disorders and learn to counsel clients and families on the services. Students will learn to conduct the most important memory tests and interviews. As members of multiprofessional teams, students will plan, implement and evaluate dementia care and rehabilitation based on the clients' needs and ethical principles. Students will know how to analyse the communication of people with memory disorders, and how to support it by therapeutic means. Students will know how to safely plan and implement drug care.

Content

Practical training in a dementia unit, which allows the student to reach the learning outcomes. The unit is selected by the student.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Pass/fail
Fail: The student does not reach the learning outcomes

Materials

the same material as for theoretical courses, independent search of information

Teaching methods

practical training, learning agreement and self-evaluation, thematic learning journal, feedback from the teacher and supervisor of practical training
