Objective

Students will
- know what human life spans involve
- become aware of central psychological processes and of their role in behaviour and learn to observe how emotions affect the body
- understand how the environment and social interaction affect functional capacity and wellbeing

Content

- Human development and life span
- Impact of stress on the components of physical fitness and bodily systems
- Sensory functions
- Arousal, emotions, motivation, personality, and mental self-regulation
- Body image, feelings and bodily functions
- Factors promoting human function, health and well-being

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

- They are partly able to define the phases of the human life span
- Students recognize most important psychological processes and the impact of emotions on the body and behaviour
- Students are partly ware of the impact of the environment on people's well-being and ability to function

- Students recognize the phases of the human life span
- Students recognize important psychological processes and the impact of emotions on the body and behaviour
- Students are aware of the impact of the environment on people's well-being and ability to function.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

- Students understand the phases of the human life span and apply their knowledge in professional contexts
- Students extensively understand the effect of psychological processes and emotions on the body and behaviour and integrate this knowledge in professional practice
- Students also know how to assess the impact of the environment on people's well-being and ability to function.
