Objective
Students are able to recognize and prevent work-related and occupational diseases. Students know the legislation pertaining to occupational health care, occupational safety and other essential decrees and the system for reimbursing employers for providing occupational health care. Students learn about physical, chemical and biological exposure at workplaces, and about stress-inducing physical and mental factors and their prevention in different fields. Students are able to implement workplace surveys and health examinations, paying attention to typical harmful effects and risks in each field. They will learn to implement rehabilitative public health nursing to maintain clients' working capacity. Students are able to use common public health nursing interventions in occupational health care.
Content
Work-related and occupational diseases. Legislation, guidelines and recommendation in occupational health care. Health risks and harmful effects in different fields.
Special features of workplace surveys and health examinations in different fields. Working capacity and rehabilitative action. Interventions in occupational health care.
