Objective

CLINICAL COMPETENCE, COMPETENCE IN HEALTH PROMOTION

Students will learn to counsel adult persons on health needs by client-centred means. Students will be able to carry out a health examination, including the more common examinations for an adult client. Students will learn to interpret the results. Students will identify factors which contribute to a healthy working environment. Students will learn to describe how the services of occupational health care contribute to the health promotion of the adult population. Students will learn to define the work of the occupational health nurse as representing one sector of public health nursing.

Content

Field trips, health examination, and healthcare plan. Practical training in occupational health care.

No previous studies are required.
