Objective

Students will be familiar with basic theoretical concepts associated with the relationship between the individual and society. Using these concepts, they will be able to assess the overall activity, well-being, functional capacity and social engagement of clients of all ages. Students will learn to explain the complex nature of people's needs and of the individual-society relationship and to give relevant examples. Students will have conceptual and multidisciplinary tools to analyse phenomena in modern society. They will also be able to view their own course of life by using concepts that describe the relationship between the individual and society.

Qualifications

No previous studies are required.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Grade 1-2:
Students are able to name and define essential concepts that describe the individual-society relationship and to look at their life course using these concepts.
Grade 3-4:
Students can explain the complex nature of human needs and of the relationship between the individual and society and they can give relevant examples.
Grade 5:
Students can use relevant, multidisciplinary concepts to assess the activity of people of all ages and to analyse phenomena in today's society.

Teaching methods

Lectures, group work, independent study. The course will be held online for students in adult education.
