Objective

After the course student can describe the process and main drivers of the globalization. Student knows how to evaluate different markets in different parts of the world. Student can apply learned information in the real life context. Student is capable of describing what kind of challenges companies face in globalization and how to adapt to them.

Content

This course deepened insight into globalization of business and on how businesses become and remain international in scope. It covers the philosophy, concepts and principles of managing international enterprises, both large and small. Case studies are used extensively to illustrate the issues faced and approaches used by global companies.

International focus on business philosophy, business management, and differences on how to run different size firms in global markets. Case study is an important part of the business.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Excellent (5): The student has carried out work to an excellent standard and participated actively and constructively. Student has shown in the course ability to comprehend the concepts of the course and apply the concepts in practical business cases: Student has been able to develop creative solutions in the assignment of the course.
Good (4-3): The student has carried out work very well and participated actively and constructively. Student has shown in the course ability to comprehend the concepts of the course and apply the concepts in practical business cases: Student has been able to develop solutions for the case company in the assignment of the course.
Satisfactory (2-1): The student has participated actively in the course. Student has shown in the course ability to comprehend the basic concepts of the course: Student has been able to use the basic concepts of the course in the case company?s assignment.

The course includes lectures, reading of the text books, and writing of essays. Also, students are required to take part in workshops and/or projects..
