Objective

Students will learn about the controls and actuators used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. They will be competent in designing and creating hydraulic and pneumatic systems. They have command of the measurement of the system and selection of components and be able to consider the criteria for selection in their designing work.

Content

Hydraulic pumps, hydraulic valves, hydraulic actuators, types of compressors, valve types, pneumatic timers and logic valves, control systems for pneumatic circuits, principles of designing a pneumatic system.

Qualifications

No previous studies are required.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

A sufficient grade will be reached by mastering the contents mentioned in the learning objectives.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

For a good grade the stundent has to show an ability to handle more comprhensive problems.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to previous an excellent grade reuquires a correct solution to a challenging problem.
