Objective

The student
-works in cooperation with families.
-is able to plan, implement and evaluate the monitoring of children's, school-age children's and young people's growth and development.
-knows how to help children, school-age children and young people to make health-promoting choices.
-can support parenting, relationships, and family life.
-is able to identify and guide the health challenges of the child and family.
-is able to work in a multi-professional way for the benefit of the child and the family and to assess the need for special support and follow-up care for the child and his or her family.
-can maintain and promote a safe growth community and environment in cooperation with families and various stakeholders.

-demonstrates mastery of the knowledge base in different areas of health care and applies knowledge widely in health care work.
-is able to make independent decisions in different healthcare work situations.
-is able to independently perform health examinations and related guidance in a child health clinic.
-can give guidance on the vaccines the client needs and vaccinates safely.
-works in a client-oriented, responsible and client-safe manner in healthcare work.
-can listen, support, and guide the client and his / her family as needed in healthcare work.
-works in public health nursing safely and in accordance with professional ethical principles.
-identifies the special support needs of the child and the family and is able to refer to follow-up care appropriately if necessary.
-works as an expert in public health nursing in inter-professional cooperation and multidisciplinary groups.
