Objective

The student
-participates in evaluation and development of public health services in co-operation with other experts and clients.
-develops public health nursing based on evidence and according to the needs of society and working life.
-keeps up to date with research and development ideas and applies them in his/ her work.
-evaluates and develops professional competence according to the challenges of working life.

Content

Evidence-based development of public health nurse's work. Evaluation of development needs for different sectors. Latest research results and development recommendations to different sectors in public health nursing. Evaluation and development of her / his own professional competence.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Grade 1-2
The student
- demonstrates and manages the basic knowledge of the different aspects of health care work.
- seeks information of data sources in health care.
- uses evidence-based information for the development of health care.
- works safely and in accordance with the principles of professional ethics of the public health nurse.
- is able to develop himself/herself professionally.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Grade 3- 4
The student
- demonstrates the management of the knowledge base of different areas of health care and applies information widely in health care.
- works as a public health nurse in accordance with the principles of professional ethics and safety.
- evaluates and critically uses evidence-based information for health care development.
- is able to develop himself/herself professionally.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Grade 5
The student
- demonstrates wide-ranging management of the knowledge base of the various areas of health care and expertly applies it in health care.
- independently searches for evidence-based information, uses it and assesses it critically in health care and his/her own development.
- develops herself / himself and health care activities in accordance with the principles of professional ethics and safety.

Fail = 0
The student
- demonstrates inadequate management of basic information on the various aspects of health care and their application in nursing care.
- does not take adequate account of ethical principles in the field of health care.
- has insufficient capacity to participate in health care development work.
