Objective

The student
- can explain the concepts of multiculturalism and diversity.
- can describe global migration and the underlying eco-social and economic factors, as well as refugeehood as a general phenomenon.
- can define integration and its different stages.
- recognizes the relationships between minorities and majorities and the racism associated with them.
- can define national and ethnic identity.
- recognizes their own abilities to encounter ethnic and cultural diversity.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student recognizes global processes that cause migration and refugee status. The student can explain key concepts of multiculturalism. The student can name the different stages of integration. The student recognizes the relationships between minorities and majorities and the racism associated with them. The student can explain national and ethnic identity and recognize their own ability to encounter cultural diversity.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student understands the global processes that cause migration and refugee status. The student can explain the key concepts of multiculturalism. The student can define the different stages of integration. The student can describe and analyze the relationships between minorities and majorities and the racism associated with them. The student understands national and ethnic identity and can reflect on their ability to encounter cultural diversity.

The student understands the global processes that cause migration and refugee status. The student masters the key concepts of multiculturalism. The student is able to describe and analyze the different stages of integration. The student is able to analyze the relationships between minorities and majorities and the racism associated with them.
