Objective
The student
- recognizes the special characteristics of encounters with patients/clients and their loved ones at the reception and applies ethical principles and guidelines in the situation
- applies anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology in determining the patient's/client's care needs and assessing their condition
- independently applies examinations and nursing methods in the patient's/client's care, following the principles of infection control
- plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care in reseption activities as a nursing expert and member of a multidisciplinary team
- guide patients/clients at the outpatient clinics and through remote services, applying goal-oriented and evaluative guidance
- uses evidence-based nursing in different work environments
Content
Meeting the patient/client and their relatives at the reception;
Determining the patient/client's need for care and assessing their condition at the reception.
Physical examination of the patient/client at the reception
Examinations and minor procedures performed on the patient/client at the reception;
Multidisciplinary care chain for reception patients/clients.
Goal-oriented and evaluative guidance for patients/clients at the reception.
Evidence-based development of nursing care in different operating environments.
Simulations and skills workshops.

Student

- uses up-to-date professional and research-based sources expertly

- analyzes, justifies, and explains their own and the group's activities
- evaluates safety factors and ethical issues related to reception activities
- contextualises and justifies their actions as required by the situation
- is familiar with the knowledge base required for reception work and is able to analyse and use concepts and acquired knowledge systematically
- encounters patients/clients from different backgrounds in reception work and guides them taking their backgrounds into account
