Objective

- The student knows the principles of the compilation of statistics on the operations of libraries and is able to analyse statistics and produce reports on them
- The student is able to utilise statistical data and user data saved by library systems and online services for the monitoring, development and efficiency assessment of the operations of a library,
- The student takes the requirements of privacy protection into account when processing data
- The student knows about the opportunities of open data and text and data mining as well as the principles for distributing library data as open data
- The student is able to make graphic presentations based on given data
- The student is able to recognise fictional and interpretative meanings of infographics
- Understands the gestalt laws in the framework of visual communication

- Basics of vector graphics with adobe Illustrator or other similar software
- Production of charts, diagrams and maps based on given data
- Preparation of an infographic presentation based on given data
- Gestalt psychology and gestalt laws

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
- has sufficiently attended the contact teaching and completed the required partial study attainment
- recognises the most common statistical and data sources and the opportunities to use them
- knows the concept of open data and the principles of text and data mining
- is able to produce a simple graphic presentation based on given data
- knows the basic tools of vector graphics

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
- has chiefly attended the contact teaching and the other partial study attainments actively
- the student knows well the different statistical data and user data produced by library operations
- is able to use statistics and user data to present and assess library operations
- recognises the opportunities to use open data and text and data mining
- is able to utilise their own expression in their graphic presentations
- is able to apply the basic rules of layout in their products
- is able to analyse their products

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
- has attended the contact teaching and the other partial study attainments actively
- the student knows comprehensively the different statistical data and user data produced by library operations
- is able to assess and analyse available statistics and user data and its importance for the monitoring and development of library operations
- has an extensive understanding of the opportunities to use open data and text and data mining
- is able to utilise their own expression in diverse ways in their graphic presentations
- is able to apply the basic rules of layout to support communication, and also break them
- is able to analyse their products in a professional manner
