Degree Programme in Cultural Management, Full-time studies

PROFILE OF THE PROGRAMME
After completion of your studies, you will be competent to work as a cultural management developer and expert or as an entrepreneur. You will possess extensive knowledge of the cultural field and various processes in cultural management (media/event management).As a Bachelor of Culture and Arts, you will plan and implement a variety of cultural and innovation projects. Your education will prepare you for responsible planning of cultural events and services, including realistic resourcing. On graduation you will be competent to organise and manage cultural projects and digital media productions.


OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES
Cultural management competence is required in ideation, planning, implementation, technical production, marketing, evaluation, management and commercialisation of cultural services and productions. As a Bachelor of Culture and Arts you can work in culture industry, product development or assume responsibility for organizational tasks in companies, municipalities or organizations. You may work as an event manager (e.g. for festivals), as a production manager, in various positions in digital media production, as an education or entertainment manager, as cultural or community worker/advisor or as a project or regional secretary. You may also become employed in a production company, in a public media company or work as a project manager on commission.


PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH
The studies in cultural management are based on project learning, which means that starting from the first year, all studies are integrated with the world of work as far as possible. Individual courses are integrated into larger productions or projects. The lecturer'r role is to be a mentor-counsellor, who contributes to the student's career planning throughout the studies.

Multiple study methods are used to support students' professional development, general work life skills and professional competence. The studies involve work in small groups, expert lectures, industrial visits, learning assignments, project work and practical training in real-life work settings.
