Building Physical Design (3cr)
Course unit code: 8D00DL29
General information
- Credits
- 3 cr
- Teaching language
- Finnish
Objective
Competence in structural engineering:
Students deepen their understanding of key phenomena in construction physics. They learn to determine heat loss in buildings and calculate heat loss compensation. Students learn to use simulation software in construction physics analyses. They are able to draw conclusions from the results about the construction physics performance of structures.
Content
- heat and moisture transfer (supplements to the content of the Construction Physics 1 course)
- heat loss in buildings and factors affecting the energy efficiency of buildings
- basic data for construction physics design (Finnish climate conditions, indoor conditions, material properties)
- criteria for construction physics design, Finnish mold model
- use of simulation program (Wufi)
Qualifications
Construction Physics 1.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Students are able to solve tasks on the basics of the course, similar to those dealt with in the course.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
In addition to the previous criteria, students are able to use the basics of the course and apply them in various tasks and give reasons.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
In addition to the previous criteria, students have a comprehensive understanding of the subject of the course. They can choose correct solutions to solve the problems of the subjects of the course and give logical reasons.
